Query Language

Our text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. Text searches are not case sensitive. Examples:

finds pages containing 'american' or 'atheist'

american or atheist

same as above

american and atheist

finds pages containing both 'american' and 'atheist'

american not atheist

finds pages containing 'american' but not 'atheist'

(american not atheist) and secular

finds pages containing 'secular', plus 'american' but not 'atheist'

atheis*

finds pages containing words starting with 'atheis' (such as atheist and atheism).
