On September 8, 2001, dignitaries from Japan and the United States gathered in San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the treaty that officially ended World War II. Although President Bush withdrew his participation at the last minute, we still made a strong presence to protest faith-based funding to Colin Powell and other US dignitaries.
